When an agent reasons faster than the person using it, offloading becomes frictionless: more scenarios explored, more options generated, and the impression of more thinking. But throughput is not depth, nor understanding. Breakthroughs tend to come from sustained time inside the problem space, and that time is exactly what frictionless offloading removes. What matters is which part gets offloaded. An agent that prunes dead ends early saves cycles the human would have wasted. An agent that supplies conclusions invites the human to skip the reasoning, and, more concerningly, the validation.
