Standard attention-check questions online were designed to catch human inattention, but modern LLMs pass them effortlessly. Bots now clear traditional quality filters while mimicking human accuracy, so data platforms can no longer rely on single-point compliance checks to verify that a contributor is human, or the same person across tasks. Verification has to shift from simple accuracy metrics to tracking continuous behavioral signatures, measuring natural cognitive and motor limits, latency patterns, contextual variance, and subtle fatigue and boredom patterns that distinguish authentic human labor from synthetic automation over time.
